Police in a drive arrested two people along with 28.9 kilograms of
silver from Plessey intersection of Monirampur upazila on Saturday.
The arrestees were identified as Manik Hasan, son of Pradyut Kumar.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Monirampur police station Mosharaf Hossain
said on secret information that some smugglers along with huge
contraband Indian silver were going towards Manikganj via Satkhira, a
team of police conducted a drive on the Jessore-Rajganj Road in the
evening and arrested the duo along with the silver.
The price of the seized silver would be around Tk50 lakh, added the OC.
