A housewife was strangulated to death allegedly by her husband at Adabaria village in Daulatpur upazila early Tuesday.The deceased was identified as Safatunnesa Safa, 55, wife of Abdul Jabbar of the village.According to villagers, Jabbar used to pick up quarrel with Safa over trifling matters and torture her since their marriage.On the fateful night, Jabbar tortured Safa, strangulated her to death at one stage, and then dumped the body in a bamboo bush beside the house.Later, in the morning, neighbours recovered her body and informed the police, who sent it to hospital morgue for autopsy.Police also arrested Jabbar.
