Dhaka Premier Cricket League begins Feb 5

Dhaka – The 5th edition of Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League will begin on February 5 simultaneously at three separate venues — Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan in Savar and Khan Saheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah.There will be a reserve day for each match in the 1st phase of the 12 teams’ tournament. If, any match ends with no result on the reserved day, points would be equally split between the two sides.Each team will be allowed to play only one foreign player in the one-day format tournament and foreign players are allowed to change their franchise without the clearance certificate from their previous club.The 1st phase of the league will end on February 20 and the six-team super league will begin after a two-day break.Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Director and Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis (CCDM) Chairman Kazi Inam Ahmed said this at a press conference in Mirpur on Monday.”We are starting this season on the day which was decided earlier. This edition of the league will begin on February 5. We are trying to bring some changes with clothing regulation from this edition,” said the CCDM chairman.”Each team has already been provided with a draft copy of Rules and Regulations Handbook. If any team wants to suggest anything, they can. We will allow only one player for each club,” Inam Ahmed added.
BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury, Head Match Referee Rakibul Hasan and Umpire Enamul Haque were also present at the programme.UNB news agency
