Dhaka – Shapla Akhter of Bangladesh Ansar earned triple crowns in the Ruchi Shamsul Arefin Smriti 35th National Badminton Championship by clinching women’s singles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles at Shamsul Arefin Gymnasium of Shaheed Aminuddin Stadium in Pabna on Wednesday.Shapla lifted the women’s singles crown beating Elina Sultana of Bangladesh Army by 21-15, 21-12 points, shared the women’s doubles title with her compatriot Dulali Halder beating Bangladesh Army pair Elina Sultana and Nabila Zaman by 22-20, 14-21, 23-21 points while shared mixed doubles title with her teammate Rahad Kabir Khaled defeating another Ansar pair Ahsan Habib Parash and Dulali Halder by 21-17, 21-18 points in their respective finals.Salman Khan of Sylhet District emerged men’s singles champions beating Mohammad Minhaz of Bangladesh Ansar by 19-21, 21-17, 21-12 points in the final.Vice-president of Bangladesh Olympic Association Anjan Chowdhury Pintoo was the chief guest and later he distributed the prizes.UNB news agency
