Dhaka – A kabiraj (herbal medicine practitioner) was found dead at his own residence at Jaleshwar village in Chatmohor upazila in Pabna on Tuesday.The deceased was identified as Bharti Bhattacharya alias Haradhon, 70, son of late Parbatinath Bhattacharya of the village.Being informed by locals, police recovered the body with his hands and legs tied up, from a room around 10am and sent it to local hospital morgue for autopsy, said SM Ahsan Habib, officer-in-charge of Chatmohor Police Station.Haradhon who was also a Hindu priest used to live at his nephew’s house, he said.Three to four females wearing burqa entered Haradhon’s house in the morning and when they left the place locals found the priest dead, said the OC quoting neighbors.Police suspected that Haradhon might have been strangled to death.However, Haradhon’s nephew Pinak claimed that gold ornaments weighting around 35 tolas were missing from the house.UNB
