Dhaka, March 7 – The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka yesterday put pro-BNP Swechchhasebak Dal president Shafiul Bari Babu on a seven-day remand Wednesday in a case filed for alleged attempts to create obstacle interrupting law enforcers.Magistrate Sabbir Yasin Mahmud Chowdhury passed the order after the police sought a 10-day remand in the case filed with Shahbagh Police Station of the city.
Besides, 11 leaders of Jatiyatabadi Chattra Dal and Jatiyatabadi Juba Dal were placed on three days’ remand each in the same case.
Jatiyatabadi Swechchhasebak Dal, Jatiyatabadi Chattra Dal and Jatiyatabadi Juba Dal are three affiliated organisations of Bangladesh Nationalist Party.
Earlier, on Tuesday arms-wielding plainclothes police detained Swechchhasebak Dal president when BNP formed a human chain in front of the Jatiya Press Club in the capital. – Special Correspondent
