Rajshahi, 10 Match – Centering the establishment of supremacy on the campus at least eight people were injured in a clash between two factions of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) on the Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) Campus on Tursday night.The injured were admitted to the Rajshhai Medical College Hospital (RMCH) with two of them are now in critical condition.
The incident happened at Shaheed Abdul hamid Hall of the university at 11.30 pm.
The injured were identified as Rafi, Mitul, Imran, Nipun, Rahat, Rajon, Ashik, Arnab.
As a sequence to the previous conflict the clash took place between the two groups of BCL Ruet unit president Nayeem Rahman Nibir and general secretary Mahfuzur Rahman Tapu.
Over a trifling matter they got locked in an altercation and later it turned into the clash. Three bombs were exploded during the fight.
On information, police rushed to spot brought the situation under control. Following the incident, BCL central committee suspended its Ruet unit and issued a show-cause notice against its president Nayeem and general secretary Tapu.
Shahadat Hossain, Officer-in- Charge of Motihar Police Station said, the incident was happened between two groups of BCL its unit over the internal clash. – RU Correspondent
