Girl abducted from Savar recovered from Gournadi

A six-year old girl Taslima Jahan Mim, abducted from Savar of Dhaka, was recovered from Sakokathi village under Gournadi upazila of Barisal after four days of abduction.Police also arrested a woman as alleged abductor, Abul Kalam, Gournadi police station in charge, said.Sub Inspector Abul Kasem of Savar police station, said arrested Rubi Aktar Dipa, 26, was wife of Mehedi Hasan Tushar of Parla village under Sadar upazila of Magura district and daughter of late Haidar Master of Sakokati village of Gournadi upazila of Barisal.Few days ago Dipa expressing her helplessness sought shelter at the rented house of garments worker Achhiya Begum, wife Amirul Islam, at Dewga area of Savar, police sources said.Dipa called Acchiya as sister and Achhiya managed a job for Dipa in a garment factory at Mirpur-1 of Dhaka.However Dipa on July 23 afternoon took Taslima Jahan Mim, 6, daughter of Achhiya-Amirul, saying she was going for purchasing medicine and since then both Dipa and Mim went missing.Acchiya lodged an abduction case (55/ 24-07-2013) against Dipa in this connection with Savar PS on July 24.Police started investigation and following mobile phone call list, became aware about Dipa’s location and informed Gournadi police station, SI Abul Kasem said.A police team led by Sub Inspector Sulaiman Mahmud of Gounadi PS recovered Mim and arrested Dipa from her paternal house on Saturday night and informed Savar police station.Dipa claimed that she came to visit her family members with Mim.SI Abul Kasem, investigation officer of the case, told he received the recovered girl and arrested alleged abductor from Gournadi PS on Sunday morning and came to Savar in afternoon.The facts behind the abduction may be unveiled after further investigation and interrogation of the arrested accused, said Mustafa Kamal, Savar police station in charge. -Our Correspondent
