Zulfikar Russel has received the “Radio Mirchi Music Award.” The lyricist got his first award outside Bangladesh for penning songs for Nachiketa’s solo album “Shabuj Chilo.” Awards in different categories were handed over on March 7 at Nazrul Manch of Kolkata. But Zulfikar Russel could not be present at the award giving ceremony to receive the award. So he got the award on March 22 from Asha Audio the music production house behind his album “Shabuj Chilo.”About receiving the award the songwriter says, “It felt great! Obviously the feeling was different from other award wins in the country as this was my first win outside the country. But would have felt better if I could have received the award on stage, which due to several reasons could not happen.” He has expressed all those concerned with the album.
Russel received the award from musicians Toonai Debashish Ganguly and Asha Audio’s proprietor Mahua Lahri.
