A mobile court here on Sunday realised Tk 31,000 in fine from seven diagnostic centres and seven women brokers in the district town for drawing patients from public hospital with false promises of medical tests.The seven women were engaged by the seven diagnostic centres for drawing patents from Goplaganj Modern Sadar Haspital, the district’s public hospital, for medical checkups with various false promises.The court fined Modern Diagnostic Centre and Group Diagnostic Centre Tk 10,000 and Apollo, Medinova and Fatema diagnostic centres Tk 7,000.It also realised Tk2 ,000 as fine from each of the seven brokers— Farida, Tanjila, Swapna, Shikha, Happy, Nasrin and Ruksana.Medical officer Dr Asit Kumar Mollik of Gopalganj Modern Sadar Hospital said the hospital authorities caught the seven women brokers while they were taking several patients away to different diagnostic centers from the hospital promising them privileges of medical tests on Sunday morning.Later the women were produced before a mobile court led by executive magistrate Chowdhury Ashraful Karim which handed down them the fine at noon. -UNB, Gopalganj
