Dhaka – Police arrested a fake policeman during extortion at TA Road of the district town on Tuesday night.The arrestee was identified as Hasibul Hossain, 50, son of Anu Sardar of Gopinath village in Kasba upazila.
Police said Hasibul had long been involved in extorting money and goods from innocent people and local traders introducing him as the officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station.
Around 8pm on Tuesday, he asked fruit trader Nirmal at TA Road to give him 2 kgs pomegranate free of cost.
Suspecting something fishy, Nirmal informed the matter to police who rushed in and arrested the imposter.UNB
