Dhaka – A court here on Wednesday sentenced three people to life term imprisonemnt for raping a woman at Hossain Dying area in Sadar Upazila in Chapainawabganj 2015.
The lifers are Sohel Babu,27, son of Kasimuddin, Dabir Ali,28, son of Bishu Khalifa and Aminul Islam,23,son of Faring Biswas, all three hailing from Chunakhali village in the Upazila.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Md Ziaur Rahman handed down the verdict.
The court also fined them TK 1 lakh each, in default, to suffer one year more RI.
According to the prosecution, on 6 June, 2015, the three youths took the woman to a house at Bathanbari making false promise of marriage and violated the woman there.
Later, the victim filed a case against them Chapainawabganj Sadar Model Police Station.
On 30 June, sub-inspector of the police station Dulal Uddin submitted a charge sheet accusing the trio.UNB
