Soumitra Chatterjee is a rare commodity when it comes to Bangladeshi films or TV productions. However, this larger than life Kolkata film star will share the small screen this Eid with Notun Kuri famed actor Rumana Rashid Ishita.Ishita has been irregular in the acting scene for many years now. This time, after a four-year hiatus, she’s making a comeback with this telefilm, “Kath Pencil.” Written by Jyoti Hazra and directed by Raffael Ahsan, the telefilm was shot in Kolkata for four days from April 23- 26. It will take another two days’ worth of shooting in Dhaka to wrap up the production.
Soumitra’s part of the telefilm was fully shot in Kolkata.
Ishita told the press: “I was mesmerized to see him up close and to get to work with him. I was speechless the first time I saw him on set. We didn’t realize how he befriended us with his remarkable words. The four days ended really fast.”The story of “Kath Pencil” revolves around a painter (Soumitra), a journalist (Ishita) and a photographer (Arnab Antu). The Kolkata part of the shooting took place in Ghose Shooting House, Victoria Memorial, the banks of the Ganges, the streets and a tram station.
