4 youths found slaughtered in Bogura

Dhaka – Four young men were found slaughtered in a paddy field of Baladighi village in Shibganj upazila on Monday.
Three of the deceased were identified as Zakaria, 32, son of Jahurul Islam of Kathgara village in Shibganj, Shahabul Islam Shablu, 30, son of Asir Uddin of Kathgara Chawkpara, and Helal, 32, son of Azahar Ali of Punot village in Kalai upazila of Joypurhat.

Sachets of heroin and hemp were also found in the pockets of the victims’ pants, police said, adding that they might have been killed over controlling drug trade and gambling in the locality.

Locals claimed that the supporters of Selim, a local drug dealer, were seen roaming around the spot on Sunday evening. Locals spotted the throat-slit bodies in the paddy field in a water body of the village around 8 am and informed police, said additional police super Sonatan Chakravarty.

Later, they recovered the bodies around 12 noon and sent those to hospital morgue for autopsy, he said.

The hands of the victims were tied up with rope on backs while one of the legs of one victim was severed, the additional SP said, adding that they were investigating the incident.UNB
