Two people were killed and ten injured in separate incidents in
Sherpur Sadar on Thursday. One of the deceased was identified as
Amdadul Haque, 25, at Sahabdi Char village in Kamarer char union of
Sherpur Sadar.
Villagers said a quarrel ensued on Wednesday between Nizamuddin ticket
master of Kamarer Char Bazaar CNG auto rickshaw and Yusuf Ali, son of
Muhammad Ali, about auto rickshaw serial and subscription. At one
point it turned into a clash between the two rival groups.
The deceased Amdadul Haque and his younger brother Akramul went to
calm down the feuding groups. Amdadul died on the spot from the attack
of the rival groups.
Another deceased was identified as Md Abdul Majid, 19, son of late
Jalal uddin at Kristopur Daripara village in Lasmanpur union of
Sherpur Sadar. Sources said Abdul Majid stole a mobile phone and he
was attacked by the villagers. Mass beating left him dead on the spot.
Police arrested one named Mutaleb on this connection.
Officer in charge of Sherpur sadar thana Mazharul Karim confirmed the
killings and said that the two bodies were sent to Sadar hospital
morgue for autopsy. Two murder cases were filed in this connection. –
