A special squad of Coast Guard in a drive recovered 300 cubic feet
teak timber worth about Tk 16 lakh as they were being amuggled after
raiding in Khalurgat bridge area under Chandgaon thana in the city on
Friday, Coast Guard source said.
The coast guard also recovered a truck worth about Tk 10.50 lakh.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of Coast Guard raided the area at around 5
am and recovered the teak timber carrying by the truck.
The truck driver and helper managed to escape sensing the presence of
the Coast Guard personnel.
The coast guard personal detained the truck. –BSS, Chittagong.
