Dhaka- An alleged mugger sustained bullet injury during a gunfight between police and his accomplices in the city’s Jurain graveyard area early Tuesday.
The injured was identified as Rajan alias Kala Rajan, 25.Police said a team of Shyampur police station arrested Rajan as he was involved in a robbery in front of the Al Amin Re-Rolling Mill at Postogola area on Monday night.
Police went on an arm-recovery drive at Jurain Gravyard with Rajan around 1:15 am as he revealed about a secret spot of arms there.
The law enforcers recovered a local firearm along with cartage near the main gate of the Jurain grave yard, Sub-Inspector of Shyampur police station, Humayun Rahman said.
Later, the accomplices of Rajan tried snatch him away by firing gunshots on the law enforcers while police also retaliated, he said.
Razan caught in line during the gunfight and sustained a bullet injury on his leg, he added.
He was first taken to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital and later was shifted to the Orthopedic Hospital in Agargaon.A constable was also injured in the incident.UNB
