Dhaka- Police in a drive arrested a women drug peddler and one of her associates with 650 bottles of contraband phensidyl from Barisal colony in Chattogram early Friday.The arrestees were identified as Parul Begum and her associate Jahura Begum, residents of the colony.Based on secret information, a police team conducted a drive in the area and arrested the duo and recovered the drugs kept in four sacks around 12 am, said Nezam Uddin, officer-in-charge of Sadarghat Police Station.
Parul, wife of Abul Hossain of Brahmanbaria district, is the kingpin of a strong drug peddling racket being operated from the colony, said police.
She operates the illegal drug business in association with at least 40 women and 30 children in all over the port city for long, the OC added.A case was filed accusing 13 people including Parul and jahura Begum.UNB
