Police arrested an upazila level ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and an activist of the party from Kakilakura area in Sribardi upazila of the district on Monday night.The arrested persons were identified as Maulana Abdur Rahman, 52, ameer of Sribardi upazila unit Jamaat, and activist Jakir Hossain, 25.Officer-in-charge of Sribardi Police Station M Ali Sheikh said the ameer and Jakir who are accused in a case filed under the Speedy Trial Act have been arrested following a warrant. – UNB, Sherpur
