Another super film of Tauquir Ahmed ‘s Haldaa has been invited in three international festivals. Invitations have been sent in the space of a single month. The film was released last year amidst much enthusiasm. It managed to live up to its expectations getting positive response from the audience. The film would take part in 11th The Goddess on the Throne Film Festival in Kosovo, 14th Kazan International Film Festival in Russia and in Religion Today Film Festival in Russia. Goddess of the Throne Film Fest will run from August 31 to September 4, Kazan International Film Festival will run from September 4 to 10, Religion Today Film Festival will run from October 4 to 11. Thus ironically it seems that the invitations have not only been sent in a month but also that the festivals will be held tentatively within the duration of a month.
The film will also take part in 15th Rainbow Film Festival in London and in Bangladeshi Film Festival in Seoul. Haldaa has already been released in various film festivals. In SAARC Film Festival it won four awards including Best Picture. In the Dhaka International Film Festival among competing Bangladeshi films it won the best director award for Tauquir Ahmed from international jurors’ body FIPRESCI.
Tauquir Ahmed’s upcoming film is on Language Movement of 1952. Titled Fagun Hawa the film is awaiting release date. Yashpal Sharma, Siam, Tisha, Fazlur Rahman Babu, Rownak Hasan have acted in the film.
