At least 20 shops and a warehouse were gutted in a fire that broke out at a market in Ramdi Bhuiyan Bazar in Kabirhat upazila early Sunday.
Witnesses said the fire originated from a short circuit at a shop at the market and soon spread burning down 19 more adjoining shops, including stationary and grocery, and a warehouse around 1:00am.
On information, firefighters from fire service stations of Maizdi and Bashurhat rushed in and doused the flame after an hour of frantic efforts.
Affected shop owners claimed the loss from the fire would go up Tk3 crore. – UNB
