200 Jamaat-men sued in Ctg for attack on police

Two cases were filed against 200 activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir on Monday in connection with attack on policemen.   Panchlaish thana SI Mintu Dutt the two cases mentioning names of 34 accused in each case.
At least six people, including two policemen, were injured as Jamaat-Shibir activists went on a rampage at Badurtala under Panchlaish police station in the port city on Sunday.   The unruly activists vandalalised eight vehicles, including a police pick-up van, during the incident.
Police arrested 58 suspected Jamaat-Shibir activists raiding a dormitory of Chittagong Government College in the evening and later released 26 of the arrestees.   Local Jamaat leader city councilor Shamsuzzaman Helali and city unit Shibir president Moshrur Hossain were among the accused. – UNB
