Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) unearthed a fake factory, seized huge fake
sex-stimulating drinks and arrested three persons here on Tuesday evening, RAB and
police sources said.
On a tip off, a special RAB-5 team from its Rangpur camp conducted a raid at
Boldipukur bus stand in Mithapukur upazila and challenged a pick up van there on the
Dhara-Rangpur highway.
After searching the vehicle, the elite force seized 2,710 bottles fake sex-stimulating
drinks and various material and inputs including corks, pipes, sugar etc and arrested three
persons red-handed from the spot.
The arrested persons are driver of the pick up van Russell, Gopal and Bhupen.
As per their confession, the elite force conducted another raid in nearby village Rasulpur
in the same upazila at the fake sex-stimulating drink producing factory of one Ratan. But,
Ratan managed to escape the scene sensing RAB presence.
Talking to local journalists, Flight Lieutenant Atik Hosain of Rangpur RAB-5 camp said
Ratan in association with other criminals had been producing fake sex-stimulating drinks
in his unauthorized factory and marketing those for a long time.
After filing a case in this connection under the Special Power Act of 1974, the elite force
handed over the arrested persons to Mithapukur police station.
The arrested persons were sent to the jail hajat when police produced them before a
Rangpur court today, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mithapukur Thana Moazzem Hossain
