The fourth death anniversary of M Saifur Rahman, the country’s longest-serving finance
minister and former BNP standing committee member, was observed with due respect
Thursday.

A special Munajat was also offered seeking salvation of the departed soul of Saifur
Rahman. Sylhet City Mayor Ariful Haque Chowdhury, son of Saifur Rahman- M. Naser
Rahman, Moulovibazar BNP leader Olid Siddiky, Advocate Muzibur Rahamn, Yusuf
Ali, Atik Musharrof, Ripon Ahmed, Ataur Rahman Pir, D. Muzammil Haque also attened
the special Munajat. Sylhet BNP, Jubodal, JCD arrange a discussion metting and Dua
mahfil, City BNP leader Habibur Rahman Habib, Shahriar Hossain Chowdhury, Abdul
Mannan, Mifta Siddiky, Dr. Nazmul Islam, Mamunur Rashid and other leader attended
the mspecial Munajat.
On September 5, 2009, the seasoned politician died in a road accident on Dhaka-Sylhet
highway. Saifur met the tragic end of his life in Brahmanbaria district on his way back to
