Police recovered the body of a farmer from a pond at Fatehmohammadpur Pramanik Para
in Ishurdi municipality area on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Nurul Islam, 55, a resident of the area.
Family sources said Nurul went out of the house on Thursday night to go to a nearby
shop and since then he remained missing.
Police said informed by locals, they recovered the body of Nurul, with stab wounds and
strangulation marks in the throat and the hands and legs tied, from a pond in the morning.
Tariqul Islam, son of the deceased, said miscreants might have dumped the body into the
pond after strangulating and stabbing his father to death on the way back home.
Biman Kumar Das, officer-in-charge of Ishurdi Police Station, confirmed the incident
saying the body was sent to Pabna Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. -UNB,
