Plainclothes police recovered a firearm from a house in Nijkuara area under Osmaninagar
thana in the city on Friday and detained two people in this connection.
The detainees were identified as UK expatriate Abdul Ahad, 35, son of late Sunaullah of
the area, and Lukan Miah, 28, son of Ahad Miah.
Sources at the district Detective Branch of police said Lukan informed them that Ahad
was possessing a locally-made pipe gun and then they conducted a drive in the latter’s
house in the afternoon and recovered the firearm hidden in an abandoned room.
Police detained both Ahad and Lukan for interrogation. -UNB, Sylhet
