Police arrested an outlawed party leader from Islamkathi village in Tala upazila on
Sunday afternoon.
The arrestee was identified as Khairul Sarder, second-in-command of Biddyut Bahini of
the outlawed East Bangle Communist Party of the upazila and son of Abul Sarder of the
village.
Officer-in-charge of Tala Police Station Enamul Haque said on secret information, a team
of police conducted a drive in the area at about 4.00pm and arrested Khairul.
Khairul is a fugitive accused in several cases, including for arms and extortion, added the
OC.
He was involved in different criminal activities, including extortion, since long, said
