At least 15 people were injured in a clash between the activists of ruling Awami League and opposition BNP at Ronsen in Rampal upazila on
Saturday.
Witnesses said the clash ensued when some local Awami League men obstructed a procession brought out by BNP activists in Ronsen area at
about 6pm in support of opposition’s 60-hour hartal beginning from Monday.They attacked each other with sticks and brick chips, leaving 15 people injured.Of the injured, Oliullah, a local leader Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) was admitted to Khulna Medical College Hospital.Three motorcycles and several shops were vandalized during the melee.Additional police super Pangkaj Chandra Roy said on information police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control. -UNB, Bagerhat
