Michael Carrick, Daniel Welbeck withdraw from England squad

Manchester United pair Michael Carrick and Danny Welbeck have
withdrawn from the England squad for the friendlies against Chile and
Germany.
Midfielder Carrick, 32, has an Achilles tendon problem, while
22-year-old striker Welbeck has a knee injury.
England meet Chile on Friday and Germany on Tuesday, with both games
at Wembley.
The Football Association said that manager Roy Hodgson will be adding
no additional players to his squad of 26.
Carrick carried his injury into United’s 1-0 victory over Arsenal on
Sunday but managed to complete the game, but Welbeck has not played
since 19 October.
England’s preparations for the two friendlies have been disrupted by
the need to switch bases after a stomach bug alert at the site of the
National Football Centre.
The senior side met up in Watford on Tuesday, rather than their usual
home in Staffordshire, as a precautionary measure.
No England players have experienced any virus symptoms. – BBC Sport
