A farmer was chopped to death by his rivals over a land-related dispute at Bamandanga village in Rupsa upazila on Monday morning.
The deceased was identified as Motaleb Morol, 50, son of late Edul Morol of the village.Locals said there had been a longstanding dispute between Motaleb and local UP member Abul Kashem over the ownership of a piece of land.As a sequel to it, supporters of Abul Kashem equipped with home made arms and sticks attacked the house of Motaleb at about 6:00am, beat him with sticks and chopped him with sharp weapons, leaving him injured.
