A court here on Tuesday convicted seven people, including two siblings, and sentenced them to life term imprisonment for killing a man in 2004.
The convicts were identified as Sahar Ali and his brother Alauddin, Ghatu Mia, Ershad Ali, Hayat Ali, Bablu Mia and Yusuf Ali. The court also fined them Tk20,000 each, the default of which will carry imprisonment of six months more.According to the prosecution, Tamez Uddin of Kazibari village in
Kalihati upazila was stabbed to death by the convicts over previous enmity on April 24, 2004.Later police submitted charge sheet accusing them.After examining records and witnesses, Second Additional Sessions Judge Jesmin Ara Begum handed down the verdict. -UNB, Tangail
