Police arrested a leader of Islami Chhatra Shibir in College Road area of Bianibazar
upazila headquarters on Thursday.
The arrested was identified as Abdullah AL Mamun, a former president of Bianibazar
upazila unit Chhatra Shibir and also general secretary of Workers Welfare Federation, a
social body of the student front of Jamaat-e-Islami.
Fazlul Alam, sub-inspector of Bianibazar Police Station, said acting on secret information
that a group of Shibir activists were taking preparation for sabotage, a team of police
conduced a raid in the area and arrested Mamun at about 4:00pm.
Later he was produced before a court on Saturday. -UNB
