Headmaster torches school furniture to blame BNP

BOGRA: The headmaster of a state-run primary school torched furniture of his own institution in Shajahanpur upazila of Bogra district on Tuesday in an attempt to shift blame onto the 18-party alliance and to make grounds for receiving donation from the government.Abdul Mannan, the headmaster of Sujabad Government Primary School in the upazila, did ask a peon of the school to set fire to school furniture. When local people caught him red handed the peon said he had been instructed by the headmaster to do so.
After initially denying the guilt the headmaster finally confessed and the local people confined him to a room and called the administration, according to a news agency report.
Officials of the local administration visited the spot and found the allegation against the headmaster true and police arrested him.
The deputy commissioner of Bogra has been quoted to have told the media that the said headmaster might have been allured by the prospect of getting donation from the government as a decision has been announced for disbursement of money for urgent repair of the schools damaged in election-related disturbance on January 5.
