Dhaka – Issuing a note of warming that the government cannot stop their movement by resorting to any evil-design, BNP on Friday asked
the opposition leaders and activists to continue their agitation until the caretaker government demand is realised.
“We want to tell the government it won’t be able to malign and suppress the ongoing movement by resorting to evil-plans and
propaganda hanging onto power through a stage-managed and unacceptable election,” BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir
said in a statement.
Criticising the government for what he said its growing repressive acts, the BNP spokesman called upon the regime to put an end to
repression on the opposition activists. “Otherwise, the government must meet the fate of autocrats.”
He alleged that the current regime has continued the arrest of opposition leaders and activists and attacks and repression on them by
joint forces since the facial election has been held. “It’s a matter of grave concern.”
The current illegal Awami League regime is gradually pushing the country towards serious instability and anarchy in implementing its
grand blueprint to annihilate the opposition by law enforcers in a fascist style.
Fakhrul accused the ruling party ‘cadres’ of attacking the minority communities at different parts of the country.
“The ruling party hooligans themselves carried out barbaric attacks on the minorities. But they’re now trying to shift the blame on the
opposition. Shifting blame on others is part of Awami League’s usual falsehood,” the BNP leader said.
Referring to media reports, he said members of the Hindu community have already voiced their anger for the attacks on them by the ruling
party cadres. “They demanded punishment of the attackers after identifying them through proper investigations.”
