Krishak League vice-president expelled

Krishak League vice-president Badiuzzaman Badsha was expelled from the party for contesting the 10th general election independently violating the party decision.

Party sources said the expulsion order came through a letter signed by KL president Md Motahar Hossian Mollah and general secretary Khandaker Md Shamsul Haque.
Badshah contested the parliamentary polls as an independent candidate from Sherpur-2 (Nokla-Nalitabari) constituency against Awami League candidate Matia Chowdhury.
Matia won the election bagging 134,810 votes while Badshah polled 35,986.
Badshah resigned from the post of Nalitabari upazila chairman before contesting the polls.
Krishak League General Secretary Md Shamsul Haq Reza told UNB that he was expelled from the party for breaking party discipline.
Contacted, Badiuzzaman said, “I’m the victim of Matia Chowdhury’s vengeance. The decision has been taken to appease her.”
