Satkhira – A local Jubo Dal leader was shot and wounded in a clash between members of joint forces and BNP-Jamaat activists at Ramchandrapur in Sadar upazila on Wednesday.Enamul Haque, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, said when a team of joint forces conducted a drive in the area to arrest an accused around 12:30pm local BNP-Jamaat activists hurled brick chips at the law enforcers.
The law enforces fired gunshots to disperse the unruly BNP-Jamaat men, triggering a clash that left Ziarul Islam Zia, 27, joint convener of Jubo Dal Sadar thana unit, bullet injured, he said.
Later, he was admitted to Sadar hospital.- UNB
