Speakers at a meeting in Rangpur have underscored the need for taking stringent actions for preventing corruption through launching social movement involving common people to build a corruption-free Bangladesh.
Community Policing Forum No-03 of Chandanpat union under Sadar upazila organised the meeting at Sahbazpur High School to adopt work plans for
preventing corruption here on Wednesday afternoon with its President Nazibur Rahman in the chair.RDRS Bangladesh extended cooperation in arranging the meeting for members of the Community Policing Forum under its Justice Reform and Corruption Prevention (JRCP) Project with the assistances of German Development Cooperation (GIZ).The NGO has been implementing the project to reduce impact of corruption over the communities in the project area under funding of GIZ with assistances of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, they said.Chairman of Chandanpat union Shahidul Islam attended and addressed the meeting as the chief guest.Adviser of the Community Policing Forum Motiar Rahman, its General Secretary Babul Sarker, Members Hasanuzzaman, Moshiar Rahman, Joynal Hossain, Monwara Begum, Headmaster of the school Emdadul Haque addressed as the special guests.Headmaster of Haridebpur High School Mritunjoy Roy and teacher Laksman Tara addressed the rally as the special guests.Community Policing Forum members, public representatives, civil society members, professionals and community leaders also participated in the meeting moderated by Upazila Manager of the JRCP Project Tahmina Akhter and its Facilitator Azim Ali.The speakers stressed for adopting work plans involving the local community people and informing the local administrations about alls orts of corruptions crimes for preventing those from the society for building a corruption free nation.They put special emphasis on educating the young generations on the values of honesty for applying those to have positive impacts on their behavior to make the hard-earned Independence meaningful for every citizen through rooting out corruption.The chief guest said stringent actions should be taken for prevention of corruption through launching vigorous social movement involving the people from all walks in life including the young generations, youths and students. -BSS, Rangpur
