A court here on Thursday awarded life term to two siblings for killing one Shahadat on September 22, 2009.
The court also fined them Tk 50 thousand each, in default to suffer three months more jail.
The convicts are, Monjurul Alam, 38, and his brother Mahfujar Rahman, 35, son of Abu Bakkar at Hiramanik village of the upazila.
The case history is, a clash took place between two groups over fishing in a pond on September 9, 2009, leaving Shahadat seriously injured.
The injured Shahadat died while undergoing treatment in hospital.
Victim’s wife Monoara Begum filed a murder case against six persons with sadar thana.
Additional district session judge Siddiqur Chawdhary handed down the verdict at 3 pm, acquitting four other accused. –BSS, Lalmonirhat
