Speakers at the concluding ceremony of workshop on Wednesday afternoon called upon all concerned for ensuring the basic rights of all citizens to education in building a knowledge-based enlightened society.
The World Vision Bangladesh (WVB) organised the workshop styled ‘Citizen Voice and Action Tool’ under its Mithapukur Area Development Programme (ADP) at Jibanpur Model Government Primary School in Mithapukur upazila.Teachers of the school, children, parents and members of the School
Managing Committee (SMC) took part in the daylong programme that laid a set of action plans and commitment to make difference in the life of the rural children through educating them.With Headmaster Ahsan Habib of Jibanpur Model Government Primary School in the chair, Assistant Upazila Education Officer Joyoti Chowdhury attended and addressed the workshop as chief guest.Mithapukur ADP Manager of WVB Joseph Minj, its Programme Officer Joseph Murdy and Agriculture Officer Pradip Roy attended the workshop as the special guests.In his speech, Mithapukur ADP Manager of WVB Joseph Minj narrated objectives of the ‘Citizen Voice and Action Tool’ advocacy programme being implemented by the NGO to ensure basic rights of all citizens in Mithapukur upazila.To ensure the basic rights of all citizens on education, Mithapukur ADP of WVB has been implementing the advocacy programme with a view to bring all children to the primary level schools in the upazila, he said.This advocacy programme is being implemented to raise awareness of the citizens of Mithapukur upazila for raising their awareness and voice on rights and mitigate the gaps on education related issues in rural
areas as per policy and guideline.The chief guest put maximum emphasis to ensure quality primary education for every child in rural areas as well as in the urban areas through brining the dropout rate to the zero level to make the government’s education for all programme successful. -BSS, Rangpur
