Two members of United People’s Democratic Front (UPDF) were shot to death by miscreants at Boroitoli village in Sadar upazila on Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Nutun Kumar Chakma, 48, and Putul Moy Chakma, 35.
Niron Chakma, press secretary of UPDF, said a gang of five armed miscreants stormed the village and chased off Nutun Kumar and Putul Moy while they were taking tea at a tea stall at about 8:00 am.At one stage, the attackers caught the duo and shot them to death near the bank of the Chenga River and dumped the bodies there.
Meanwhile, UPDF blamed the cadres of Santu Larma-led Parbatya Chattagram Janasanghati Samity for the killing.
Mizanur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, confirmed the incident. – UNB
