Police arrested an upazila parishad election candidate for violating electoral code of conduct in Pagla Pir area of Sadar upazila early Monday.
The arrestee was identified as Masud Rana, 45, a chairman candidate backed by BNP from sadar upazila.Abdul Kader Jilani, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, said police arrested Masud Rana while distributing money to buy votes in the area around 2:30am.
