19 bodies recovered from Bay in Cox’s Bazar

Police recovered 19 bodies, said to be of Myanmar nationals, along the Teknaf coast off Bay of Bengal on Thursday afternoon.The bodies were recovered from 2pm to 6pm from the coast stretching from Sabrang to Baharchhara, said Mohammad Babul Akter, additional police super of Cox’s Bazar.
He said the victims might have been Myanmar nationals as a boat carrying about 200 Rohingya Muslims who were evacuating ahead of tropical storm Mahasen capsized off the Pauktaw township in Rakhine State late on Monday.
The bodies were taken to Teknaf Police Station, the additional SP said, adding that those will be sent to Cox’s Bazar General Hospital later for autopsy. (Source: UNB)
