Abahani drops point with Brothers Union

Dhaka – Six times champions Dhaka Abahani Limited dropped point in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football after playing 1-1 draw with lowly Brothers Union Club in their 2nd match at Bangbabandhu National Stadium here on Saturday.

After the day’s last 2nd round match, Saif Sporting Club dominated the league table securing full six points, defending champions Bashundhara Kings and league runners up Dhaka Abahani Ltd followed the leader neck and neck collecting four points from two matches.

Following the footprint of holders Bashundhara Kings, who dropped point against newcomers Police FC in the 2nd match, league runners-up Abahani also settled for a draw against low budget Brothers Union Club.

In the day’s match, Haitian forward Belfort put Dhaka Abahani ahead in the 37th minute by a cool push from close (1-0) when Abahani’s Nigerian forward Sunday and Brothers defender failed to receive a square pass from right side.
