Abrar criticised recent India deals in last Facebook post

Kushtia, Oct 7 (UNB) – In his last Facebook post, Abrar Fahad criticised Bangladesh’s agreements with India allowing the neighbouring country to withdraw water from the Feni River and use the country’s port.

Abrar, 21, a second year student of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department of Buet, was allegedly beaten to death by some Chhatra League leaders.

Bangladesh and India signed several agreements, including one allowing India to withdraw 1.82 cusec water from the Feni River, on October 5.

Abrar stated several instances in which Bangladesh failed to achieve anything in its interest regarding the use of port, water sharing and export of energy resources to India.

In another post made on September 30, Abrar condemned Bangladesh’s decision to export Hilsa to India’s West Bengal.

He also criticised India for opening the Farakka Barrage on September 29.
