The need for accepting Islam as code of life to restore peace and discipline in the society was emphasised at the opening of a two-day Quran Tafsir (translation) mohfil organised by the Bangladesh Islami Andolan at Suhrawardi Uddyan in Dhaka on Monday.
Nayebe Amir of the Islami Andolan Syed Muhammad Faizul Karim told the meeting that acceptance of earthly philosopies to remove unhappiness from society has instead increased the same. Only Islam can help restore lasting peace, make the earth livable and also ensure heavenly peace.
He said that Islam does not mean merely the performance of some religious rites in individual life. It has clear directions for solving all earthly problems and phyisical demands. Islam is the ideal for all fields of activities including economics, sociology and politics, he said.Syed Muhammad Faizul Karim said that a man turin into model it he reflects through his life he tenets of Islam. Similarly a state that is based on the tenets of Islam turns into a model state. He urged all irrespective of petty differences to unite under the banner of Islam is the greater interest of the counry and the nation.
Presided over by Moulana ATM Hemayet Uddin, pesident, Dhaka city unit of Islami Andolan, the inaugural function was also addressed by Moulana Yunus Ahmed, pir shahen of Khulna, Mufti Mizanur Rahman Sayeed, director general, Shaikh Zaharia Research Centre, Dhaka; and Shaikhul Hadit Moulana Moqbul Hossain among other ulema (Islamic scholars). – Press release.
