High security at Savar on the Independence day

The National Mausoleum at Savar will be brought under a stringent security blanket on March 26 when the nation will celebrate its 46th Independence and National Day.The decision was taken on Sunday at a meeting of Independence Day security held at Home Ministry with Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan in the chair.

Meeting sources said this is for the first time entire National Memorial area will be brought under surveillance of CC cameras.

The meeting also decided to ensure strict security measures across the country for smooth celebration of the Independence Day so that no unpleasant incident occurred.

Besides, law enforcement agencies have been asked to ensure security of all the cultural prorammes, which will be organized to celebrate the day.

Proper security will be ensured for the foreign diplomats who will pay tributes to the martyrs of the war by placing wreaths at the National Memorial, said a Home Ministry official as quoted the meeting’s decession.

Only vertical arch will be allow to construct in roadsides to mark the independence day, he said preferring anonymity.

Inspector General of Police AKM Shahidul Hoque, DMP Commissioner Md Asaduzzaman Miah, senior officials of different law enforcement and intelligence agencies as well as officials of concerned ministries were attended the meeting.
