ADB DG arrives in Dhaka

DHAKA: Director General of South Asia Department of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Juan Miranda arrives Dhaka on Tuesday on a two-day official visit.During the visit, Miranda will attend the Tripartite Portfolio Review Meeting to be conducted jointly with the government.
He will also hold discussions with senior government officials, including the Ministers for Finance, and Planning, and Adviser to the Prime Minister for International Affairs. Discussions will focus on ADB operations and thrusts, as well as reform priorities, and implementation issues in key areas, including infrastructure development.
ADB, based in Manila, is dedicated to reducing poverty in Asia and the Pacific through inclusive economic growth, environmentally sustainable growth and regional integration.
Established in 1966, it is owned by 67 members – 48 from the region. In 2012, ADB assistance totaled $21.6 billion, including co financing of $8.3 billion.
