Advocacy meet on drug prevention held

An advocacy meeting on countrywide campaign for the prevention of drug
addiction and mental disorders was held at local civil Surgeon office
Sunday.

With the assistance of Poriprckkhit Health-Edcation Department of
Health and Civil Surgeon office jointly organised the advocacy
meeting. Administrator of Zila Parishad Narsingdi Advocate Asaduzzaman
attended the meeting as chief guest with civil Surgeon Narisngdi Dr.
Rashid Ahmed in the chair.

A total of 40 persons including government officials, journalists,
college students, representative of Bus-truck Sramik association and
local elite took part in the meeting.

Omar Faruke Health and Education officer presented the opening speech.

The meeting was addressed among others by vice chairman of Narsingdi
Sadar Upazila Parishad, District primary education officer Nargis
Shajada Sultana, BSS Narsingdi district correspondent Mohammad Abu
Taher, District correspondent ATN Banujir Ahmed, Secretary of Bus
truck Sramik Association Manik Miah and Dr Nazmul Haque.

Speakers expressed satisfaction on the country wide campaign for
prevention of Drug addication and mental disorders.

They said the compaign against prevention of drug abuse and mental
disorders must be prevented Drug addiction and mental disorders.

They said people of the country now anxious as the drug abuser of
country are increasing alarmingly. Students workers, Businessman and
others professional are regularly taking various drugs. Beside mental
disorders are now the one of the problem in country. We should come
forward for preventing drugs.
