AL plans rallies at 16 venues in capital on Jan 5

The ruling Awami League will organise public rallies at 16 venues including the Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital city January 5.
This decision was taken at a joint meeting of Awami League (AL) held at the political office of party president Sheikh Hasina at Dhanmondi in the city on Friday. Split into 16 teams, central leaders of AL will speak at these public rallies, according to party sources.Public metings will be organised also in all other cities, district and upazila headquarters simultaneously at 2-30 pm in observance of the ‘Victory for Democracy Day’ on January 5.
In the capital, public rallies have been planned at Suhrawardy Udyan, in front of Mirpur Purabi Cinema, Jurain-Syampur Rail Gate, Demra-Jatrabari Ground, in front of Badda-Rampura Filling Station, Dhanmondi Road-32, Mirpur-1 Goll Chattar (Round Square), Lalbagh, Gulshan, Sutrapur, Tejgaon, Sabujbag-Khilgaon, Uttara, Kamrangirchar, Mohammadpur and Kafrul, said a press release of Awami League.
In a statement on Saturday, Awami League joint general secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif, MP, urged AL leaders concerned in particular and party units across the country in general to observe the Victory Day for Democracy in line with party programmes on January 5. – BSS
