Alleged terrorist killed in Laxmipur ‘gunfight between gangs’

An alleged terrorist was killed and two others injured in a gunfight between two gangs of people, termed as criminals, at Ganeshshyampur in Sadar upazila on Tuesday night.
The deceased was identified as Hanif Moma, son of Selamat Ullah, a resident of the same village.
Police said there had been a longstanding enmity between Jasim Uddin and Hanif Moma groups over establishing their dominance in the locality.As a sequel to the enmity, the supporters of both the groups exchanged gunshots at about 10:00 pm, leaving Hanif dead on the spot and two others injured.
Being informed, police recovered the body and sent it to Laxmipur Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy on Wednesday morning.
Superintendent of police Shah Mijan Safiur Rahman confirmed the incident. – UNB
